Day 279: Build a house of cards

June 9, 2011 § Leave a comment

If the plastic/paper walls of this house of cards could talk, they would probably just cry out in pain and anger for the hour and a half it took me to put it together.

Seriously. An hour and a half.

I thought I’d blast through this post in fifteen minutes. Then the cards fell down once, twice, thrice. It hit 100 degrees outside today and the apartment was warming like a crock pot, but I couldn’t turn on a fan or the A/C because even the slightest breeze would topple my tower. I eventually found an instructional article online that said the cards stay together best when you lick the edges. So I did.

Then Steph came in and accidentally knocked it over.

But alas, I finally finished, and the house lived long enough for me to take these two pictures. But if you ever come over to play poker, you might consider wearing gloves when handling this deck, because dried saliva is coating everyone from the Queen of Hearts to the Jack of Spades.
