Day 267: Channel my subconscious hipster

I came home this afternoon and Stephanie greeted me by saying “Hi there, Hipster.” I rolled my eyes and laughed and said, “Yeah, right.” But then I sat down on the couch and secretly Googled hipster. Urban Dictionary says:
Hipster [hip-ster] –noun Slang: Listens to bands that you have never heard of. Probably tattooed. Definitely cooler than you. Reads culture magazines and likes modern art. Drinks Pabst Blue Ribbon. Often. Complains. Always denies being a hipster. Hates the word. Probably living off parents money – and spends a great deal of it to look like they don’t have any. Has friends and/or self cut hair.Has a closet full of clothing but usually wears same three things OVER AND OVER (most likely tight pants, scarf, and ironic tee-shirt).. Addicted to coffee, cigarettes (Parliaments, Kamel Reds, Lucky Strikes, etc.), and craft beer. Claims to be in a band. Rehearsals consist of choosing outfits for next show and drinking PBR. Majors or majored in art, English, or queer studies.
- Tattooed? Check.

- Has girlfriend cut hair? Check.
- Addicted to coffee and craft beer? Check.

How embarrassing. My longing for Portland has begun to manifest itself in physical forms. Looks like it’s about time for a visit home.
