Day 153: Experience two feet of snow

February 2, 2011 § Leave a comment

Me on top of a mountain of snow.

When I looked out the window this morning, the ground seemed significantly closer to our window. The reason for this: two feet of snow that had settled after last night’s blizzard.

We spent most of the day relaxing inside, doing typical snow day things: watching movies, playing games, drinking hot chocolate, etc. We did finally venture out right as the sun was going down to go for a walk. I had Stephanie shoot a video of me making a really deep snow angel, but it turns out that the lightening was so poor you couldn’t see anything. So instead, here are some pictures to illustrate:

The world outside our window.

A buried fire hydrant.

Walls of snow along the sidewalk.

Now that we’ve experienced a real Chicago snow storm (in fact, a historic one), I think I’ve had my blizzard fix.
