Day 84: Spend Thanksgiving without family

November 26, 2010 § Leave a comment

Our menu:

Turkey
Gravy
Cranberry sauce
Sausage and sage stuffing
Shrimp and crab salad
Roasted vegetables
Deviled eggs
Clam dip
Rolls
Cream cheese shrimp cocktail
Pumpkin pecan cheesecake

Yes, all of this food was for two people. We refused to scale down the typical proportions so that we could either live on leftovers until winter break or be prepared in case a herd of hungry orphans or a swarm of famished lumberjacks happened to wander into our apartment.

It was our first Thanksgiving away from home, but between our outstanding menu and a number of Skype calls, it actually didn’t feel like it. Add the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” and it’s a holiday to remember.
