Day 72: Meet Amy Sedaris

Amy Sedaris, star of former Comedy Central show Strangers with Candy, comedian and sister to writer David Sedaris, was signing copies of her book, Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People, at the Borders on North Michigan Avenue today.

We waited for three hours to meet her, the entire time stuck downwind of the world’s smelliest man. This guy stunk of wet, poop-covered cats. However, it was definitely worth it.

Notice the awesome Powell’s City of Books shirt that I’m wearing in the photo. Amy noticed the shirt and said that she loves Powell’s and is doing a signing there when she goes to Portland.

We were not allowed to tell Amy what to write in our book. We could only tell her our names and she would write an personalized message. Here is what she wrote in our book:
