Day 52: Buy a pumpkin at the Home Alone church

In the post from Day 36, you may remember that Stephanie and I visited the house where the first Home Alone movie was filmed, which turned out to be only a few miles north of where we live in Evanston. Today we went to the church from the movie, which is only about seven minutes away, and bought a pumpkin from their charity sale.
You may remember the scene from the movie in which Harry and Marv chase Kevin down the street, but lose him after he hides in the nativity scene on display in front of the church by puting on a robe belonging to one of the wise men. Today, a scarecrow and wagon full of Indian corn sat where the nativity scene was standing in the movie, but the church itself was definitely recognizable. Below on the left is a picture from today, and on the right is a picture I found online, complete with snow and nativity scene, for you to compare.
We bought a squatty pumpkin that is very short and fat because it looked interesting. Stephanie named him Frederick. I’ll post a picture of him once he is fully carved.
